Outstanding Community Hospital

Our Community Hospital Our community hospital is a 277 bed not for profit hospital. It is the largest employer in our community providing approximately 1600 jobs for the residents of our area. Because of the support and generosity of our citizens we were able to add a 93,000 square foot addition containing a new emergency room and surgery department. Both of these units are equipped with the latest technology. A Health Resource Center is another recent addition which is staffed primarily by volunteers with clinical backgrounds to support and educate patients, family members and professionals who are involved in the care of those with medical illnesses. In partnership with a local foundation, the hospital also now offers a dental clinic to serve uninsured low income children The hospital along with its employed physicians use electronic medical records and is currently in the process of expanding its EDP Center to prepare for future growth and modernization. Prescription meds for patients are computer controlled and dispensed only after multiple checks are completed. This has resulted in less than 1% of medical errors. Nearly seven million dollars of charity care is provided which is over and above bad debt of more than nine and one half million for care to patients who are unable or unwilling to pay for their care. I am grateful for this wonderful resource in our community. It has been a “Top 100 Hospital” for 8 out of the last10 years. I am privileged for having served on the Hospital Board for 6 years and for the past 5 years on the System Board as we strive to continue to improve the health of our citizens.

Would I be correct in assuming this hospital is in Ohio? We had some problems with Funding for the new hospital wing
